Rivers APC Female Aspirants Kickstart Consultations
Ahead of the 2019 general elections, female aspirants for House of Representatives and State House of Assembly on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State recently commenced consultative dialogue sessions with different female stakeholders and party officials on ways to enhance more women participation in the forthcoming elections.
The aspirants under the aegis of APC Female Aspirants coordinated by Mrs Dabota Godswill Jumbo, a House of Assembly aspirant for Bonny Constituency, organized a consultative dialogue session which began with a prayer and praise session tagged ''Hallelujah Beginning" on Monday, August 20, 2018, where they committed their aspirations into God's hands and guidance.
A guest minister, Mrs. Esther Ephraim of the Wailing Women International Ministry led the group in an intensive prayer and word session.
A former acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, and a stalwart of the APC in Etche Local Government Area, Mr. Ndubuisi Nwankwo, spoke on diverse strategies for managing an effective campaign and the essentials of a good manifesto/ message, respectively.
The group later visited two former members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Dame Maureen Tamuno, and Hon. Irene Inimgba, a former Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Joeba West, and the state party Seceratay, Chief Emeka Beke.
Addressing the group, Chief Beke advised them to be very effective grassroot mobilisers in their various LGAs, wards and units, urging them to remain steadfast and wise in the pursuit of their aspirations.
The Rivers State APC female aspirants include two aspirants for the House of Representatives, Engr. Victoria Wobo Nyeche and Mrs. Nancy Stephen-Ijaopo, and aspirants for the State House of Assembly, Mrs. Dabota Godswill Jumbo, Bonny Constituency, Mrs. Urey Ejims, Obio/Akpor Constituency 2, Mrs. Chioma Amadi-Oparaeli, Port Harcourt Constituency 2, and Mrs. Chioma Beke, Emohua Constituency.
Others are State House of Assembly aspirants, Mrs. Linda Timothy-Wali, Obio/Akpor Constituency 2, Mrs. Chinwe Austin, Etche Constituency 1, Mrs. Uloma Siya-Braide, Etche Constituency 2, Princess Racheal Fibika-Ado, Okirika Constituency, Mrs. Patience Aselemi, Abua Odual Constituency, Mrs. Charity Wellington, Andoni Constituency, and Mrs. Edna Nwaobilo, Etche Constituency 1.
