I Emerged Bonny LGA’s 1st Female Vice Chairman By Divine Intervention - Barasua

Vice Chairman of Bonny
Local Government Area, Anengi Barasua says the happenings that led to her
emergence as first female Vice Chairman of the LGA is nothing but divine
intervention and completely an unexpected surprise for her.
Barasua said this during
a Thanksgiving Service at Christ Anglican Church, Green's Iwoma, in Bonny LGA
on Sunday, December 29, 2018 in her honour as first female Vice Chairman of the
Bonny LGA.
In her words, “Nobody knew
last year that by this time in 2018 I would be addressing you in the capacity
of Vice Chairman. The tides weren't in my favour, I was a nobody in my party
quietly doing the things I did, but just like David, God discovered and
honoured me.”
The Bonny LGA Vice
Chairman at a reception in her honour shortly after the thanksgiving service
used the occasion to reach out to the less privileged in the community by
donating bags of rice, ingredients, and cash to them.
She thanked her boss,
the Executive Chairman of Bonny LGA, David Irimagha, for continually believing
in her +and pledged to deploy all her competences and skills to support his
administration.
\She also thanked the
State Commissioner for Local Governments, Rodaford Longjohn, and other leaders
of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the area, party faithful, among others
for their significant roles in her political elevation.
Speaking during the
event, the lawmaker representing Bonny constituency in the State House of
Assembly, Abinye Pepple said thanksgiving should be a norm for everyone who has
been a beneficiary of God's magnanimity in any way. He praised the Vice
Chairman for her outreach effort and sued for more to be done.
On his part, the Executive Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, David Irimagha expressed confidence in her capacity and willingness to team up with him in steering the ship of the LGA to enviable heights while eulogizing her efforts in reaching out to her immediate constituency in a time as this.
A former Caretaker
Committee Chairman of Bonny LGA and Secretary of the PDP in the LGA, Charles
Jumbo expressed joy at the event and also complimented Barasua’s gesture by making
additional donations.
The event had in
attendance the wife of the Executive Chairman of Bonny LGA, Mrs. Tamunosa
Irimagha, Leader of Bonny Legislative Assembly, Hon. Miriam Hart, stakeholders
of the PDP and principal officers of Bonny Local Government Council, and elders
of Green's Iwoama community, amongst others.
