BREAKING!!! Uche Secondus Calls On INEC Chairman, IGP Idris To Resign Immediately

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has called on the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Yakubu Mahmoud and the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to resign immediately. Speaking at the 83rd PDP National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja earlier today, Secondus said Mahmoud needs to resign because he has proven he is unable to conduct free, fair and credible election. On the IG of Police, Secondus said the police, under the current leadership, was being used as a tool to victimize anyone that is believed to be of the opposition. The training camp, which also serves as the orientation camp for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), is in Nonwa Gbam in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State. NANS Reacts To FG’s Reduction Of JAMB, NECO Fees, Speaks On ASUU Strike

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), on Thursday, applauded the Federal Government for reducing the cost of JAMB and NECO application forms. The Federal Government, after the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday, announced the reduction in JAMB fee from N5,000 to N3,500 for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The amount charged for Senior Secondary Certificate Examination by the National Examination Council (NECO) was also reduced from 11,350 to N9,850 and Basic Education Certificate handled by NECO was slashed from N5,500 to N4,000. The reductions take effect from January, 2019. NANS’ National Public Relations Officer, Mr. Bestman Okereafor, while reacting in a statement issued in Enugu on Thursday, commended the decision, NAN reports. This indication came as the Rector of the institute, Chief Samuel Timi Johnson recently suspended the school's Registrar, Mr. Leo Adelakun over what he described as the Registrar's insubordination, administrative lapses     and gross misconduct. According to the Rector, the suspension became necessary owing largely to the unilateral decisions being taken by the Registrar without following due process, stressing that this includes issuance of letter of appointment and undue suspension of some staff of the school. If the federal government through the Nigerian military refuses to allow the training of the Rivers State Neighborhood Safety Corps at its designated training camp, the State Government has threatened to train them inside the Government House, Port Harcourt. The State Governor, Nyesom Wike issued this threat at Odiokwu, Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State where he flagged off the construction of a Model Primary Healthcare Centre, Odiokwu Internal Roads, Odiokwu-Anwuigboko and Odiokwu-Oyigbo Roads on Thursday.
