Bonny Employment Saga: We Intervened On Behalf Of Bonny People - APC
THE All Progressives Congress, Bonny chapter said it intervened on behalf of the people of Bonny Kingdom to checkmate the unfortunate developments at the Bonny Integrated Recruitment Centre (BIRC).
It accused the BIRC under its current leadership of being involved in ‘dirty deals’ and shortchanging the people of Bonny Kingdom, which it has a responsibility to protect.
Speaking through its Publicity Secretary, Adolf Ransom People, the APC, Bonny chapter debukned the allegation by the BIRC Chairman, Aladiokuma Hart that the petition by the party orchestrated the unfortunate event of yesterday.
“As a political party, we have the right to intervene on behalf of the people if we feel that things are not properly done. That was what we did.”
“There are a lot of dirty deals taking place at BIRC which we deliberately refused to mention in the petition.”
“I think what caused yesterday's crisis had been lingering for some time now.”
It regretted that the employment bureau that was supposed to serve the interest of the community was derailing from its core mandate of ensuring that the recruitment procedures were consistent with best practices.
“The BIRC is meant to serve the interest of Bonny community by ensuring that employment/recruitment is properly done in line with laid down procedures.”
“Many people in Bonny are aware that hotels and guest houses in Bonny and Finima are filled with strangers who currently participate in the shutdown”.
“Who brought them? How did they get jobs here? Are BIRC and Monitoring Team not aware of their presence here?”
“BIRC Is supposed to have a Public Relations Officer. If an allegation is made against It, the PRO should respond and clarify the issues raised.”
